This committee identifies structural and institutional issues in academia that are pertinent to gender, race, sexual orientation and other marginalized groups, collects pertinent data, coordinates and communicates with other organizations addressing these issues, and organizes information on best practices toward creating a just academy.

Position Statement

On Gender and the Evaluation of Teaching

Sociologists for Women in Society recognizes that gender affects students' evaluations of teaching, and urges universities and colleges to take steps to minimize the potential negative impact this may have on instructors.
