Awards Committee

Description

The Awards committee recognizes outstanding feminist scholarship, activism, and mentoring.  Every year sub-committees, one for each of the below awards, solicit and review applications and choose winners.

Cheryl Allyn Miller Award
recognizes outstanding research on women and work

Chow Green Dissertation Scholarship
supports doctoral research by and about women of color

Feminist Activism Award
recognizes an SWS member whose activism improves the lives of women in society

Feminist Lecturer Award
recognizes an individual whose scholarship employs a feminist perspective and makes this scholar available to campuses where such a voice is unusual and/or unwelcome

Beth B. Hess Memorial Scholarship
awarded to doctoral student for scholarship, activism and commitment to community college education

Mentoring Award
recognizes an SWS member who exemplifies feminist mentoring

Rosenblum Dissertation Scholarship
recognizes outstanding research on reproductive cancers; awarded biannually

Undergraduate Social Action Award
recognizes undergraduate students whose social actions improve the lives of women in society
