Who We AreSWS officers are tireless volunteers in the pursuit of social
equality for women. Their commitment involves planning and
implementation of budgets, committees, annual meetings, publications,
scholarships, and awards to outstanding members. All professionals
in their own field, they are the strength and leadership of the organization!
Past presidents of SWS have been at the forefront of gender
scholarship, leading the organization to new frontiers in gender
equity. They were our founders, and those who remain with us today
provide guidance, act as mentors, and lead us in research,
scholarship, and service.
Our regional and local chapters exemplify the spirit and goals of SWS
in various sites and locations throughout the United States. They
set their own priorities, carry out their own projects, and in so
doing, contribute to the objectives and fellowship of the national
organization.
